Located in the heart of Essex, Five Lakes Resort is a hidden

Room reservations are to be made through the Nuffield Farming Office using the online booking form. Payment for rooms is to be made direct to the hotel on departure.

Local Attractions

Burnham-on-Crouch

The renowned yachting centre of Burnham-on-Crouch was once a former oyster port.

Visitors can enjoy the town's historical surroundings and the numerous activities on offer. Most visitors find their way to the quay which has a range of attractions like Burnham's museum, delightful houseboats or the Riverside Park


Colchester

Only 10 miles away from the hotel, Colchester has long been known as Britain's oldest recorded town. Colchester is full of fantastic visitor attractions waiting to be discovered.

Colchester Castle surrounded by its beautiful Park will take you to the medieval ages. If you are interested in art, don't hesitate to visit the town's newest complex, Firstsite. Alternatively release your wild side and discover the world renowned Colchester Zoo.

If you're looking for something a little unique and edgy - unleash your inner Viking at Valhalla Lanes.


Dedham

Dedham is a lovely village located on the Essex/Suffolk border, 18 miles away from the hotel. There are no shortage of things to do from hiring a boat along the river, walking the Stour Valley Path, to simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery. 

Walk down the High Street with its colourful wooden-beamed houses and boutique shops lining the streets or visit Dedham Church, an impressive 15th century building standing tall in the middle of the village. Housed in a converted church, Dedham Art & Crafts Centre exudes historic charm and is the perfect place to visit, shop and eat.
      



Directions

From London

From M25 Junction 28, take the A12 Northbound.

Exit after Junction 22 signposted for Rivenhall/Silver End immediately after The Fox Public House.

At the T-junction turn right, signed Five Lakes and travel for 3 miles until you come to a T-junction.

Turn left sign posted for Colchester/Tiptree and travel approximately 1 mile then turn right into Station Road (signposted for Five Lakes).

Once you reach a T-junction, turn right (signposted Tolleshunt/Tollesbury) then fork left when you reach the min roundabout.

Travel for approximately 2.5 miles until you reach a crossroads and turn right.

The resort is on your right, after approximately 400 yards.

From Ipswich

Take the A14 from Ipswich Westbound and join the A12 London bound.

Exit at Junction 24 and after entering Feering turn left onto the B1023.

Enter Tiptree and go straight over the double mini roundabout (staying on the B1023).

After approximately 1.5 miles fork left at the mini roundabout.

Travel for approximately 2.5 miles until you reach a crossroads and turn right.

The resort is on your right-hand side after approximately 400 yards

By Train

The local railway station is Witham which is just a 15 minute taxi journey.

The hotel is only 20 minutes from Colchester Train Station which is easily accessible from London Liverpool Street, Stratford, Ipswich and Chelmsford stations.
